Kedarkantha means Throat of Lord Shiva, The myth goes back to the time of Mahabharata. After the war the Pandavas went to himalayas to seek blessings from Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva did not appear to meet them.
In 1905, Lord
Curzon, a great adventurer and the then viceroy of British India took this
trail and since then it is named after him.

has a story behind, and there name’s are the result of the ancient tales about
them.

Kedarkantha means Throat of Lord Shiva, The myth goes back to the time of Mahabharata. After the war the Pandavas went to himalayas to seek blessings from Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva did not appear to meet them.
Instead he took a
disguise of buffalo and mislead the Pandavas. Bheem seeing the herd of buffalo
played a trick. He stood on two rocks with his legs opened
wide. The buffalo were made to pass under Bheem. One of the buffalo (disguised) refused to pass resulting in fight with Bheem. In this fight, Bheem ripped apart the buffalo in pieces. The place where these pieces fell Pandavas later constructed temples of Shiva to worship.

Kauri Pass Trek - History behind mystery
With magnificent
views of lots of Himalayan peaks like the twin peaks of Nanda Devi ( 7817m )
and Nanda Devi East ( 7434m ), Trishul ( 7120 m), Kedarnath ( 6940m ),
Chaukhamba ( 7140m ), Nilkantha ( 6597m ), Kamet ( 7756m ), Gauri Parbat (
6727m ), Hathi Parbat ( 6738m ), Bethartoli ( 6352m ), Dunagiri ( 7066m ),
Mana, Nandaghunti, etc. this trek is a treat to your eyes, Kuari, translates to
'Virgin' in Hindi, as he came back from the trail so he asked the villagers
that what you call the untouched so they replied “Kuari” therefore as the trail
till then was untouched so it got the name Kuari pass and the Curzon trail.
Gomukh Tapovan Trek - History behind mystery
Gomukh Tapovan Trek is considered as one
of the most exciting and thrilling treks.
Resembling the mouth of a cow, the
Gomukh Glacier is one of the main water sources of the holy Ganges. Around the
glacier, one can also view the peaks of Gangotri Group - Shivling, Thalay
Sagar, Meru, and Bhagirathi III. In addition to its mesmerising beauty and
appeal, it is also an important pilgrimage site for the Hindus and a dip in its
water is considered as a sacred ritual, On the other hand, Tapovan is located
at the foothills of the Shivling Peak and is considered as a challenging route
for the trekkers. Reaching a height of around 14,640ft, it is often thronged by
the sadhus. The whole trek has a spiritual belief, in Hindus.
Sandakphu Phalut Trek - History behind mystery
There was a man
named as ‘Sanda’ died in the mountains and his grave got covered by heavy snow.
So ‘Sanda’ was the
name of that man and ‘Phu’ stands (in local language) for ‘Stupa’ or Rock cave,
eventually, it comes out as “SANDAKPHU”, Sandakphu explains the meaning of this
as “height of the poison plant”. This trek is as amazing as it sounds lots of
adventured fun and all time experience.
Rupin Pass Trek - History behind mystery
Travelling to Rupin pass can be a
marvelous and historic experience, as each trek has a wonderful and unique
story same goes with this trek, locals says there was man who used to take his
sheep’s and other animal for grazing up in the mountains, once when he was
coming back his sheep get injured in leg
so he took the poor animal down but as he reached down he realized the wound is
filled and sheep can walk properly, he was shocked and thought what it would be
which cured the wound that early, so next day he went back to the same place
and cut of all the green grass take them back with him and called all the other
shepherd to come and told them the whole story about the last day, and said “I will cut my neck open, and rub the
grass on my wound to save myself. If it works and I live, I get every single
one of your sheep. If not, then you will get mine.” Of course, the shepherds
excitedly agreed to this proposition, expecting to have a few hundred new sheep
under their ownership within the next few minutes that is how Rupin pass trek
become famous and known.
